She joined our No Limits’ family almost a year ago and has gotten super strong. She lifts heavier than most guys which we think is awesome!
Like many, fear of being judged almost stopped her from joining. She soon realized that we are one big family.
Keep lifting like a beast, Heather! We know you’ll reach your 300lb deadlift goal!
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: “A man’s legs should be tall enough to reach the ground”

Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: I want to lower my overall body fat percentage, and deadlift 300 pounds!
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: My husband – we have a lot of goals together and I want to be in my best shape possible to make those happen.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I used to always be a fit person, then college happened and I didn’t know what or how to feed myself. Pair that with stress and newfound freedom and I had issues… not just weight gain but some health issues my doctor was worried about too. I tried to fad diet off and on, with no success. The situation was getting worse and worse, but I missed working out so I joined No Limits in November 2019 to help achieve of my goal of becoming healthier.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: It is going to sound corny – but I think it’s helped everywhere. I am generally less stressed and I don’t “make a mountain out of a mole hill” that often anymore. Once you have survived a few Saturday morning workouts, then nothing can stop you! Plus, it’s nice to have some “me time” pre-scheduled into my life.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: My relationship with food has changed a lot lately. After doing a challenge where we tracked our macros, I realized I basically had to re-learn food. I had to stop looking at it as the enemy and instead as fuel. I have a long way to go with this, but until that challenge, I was pretty pig-headed. I am also happy that I have gained almost 5 pounds in muscle mass!
Q: What made you decide to join No Limits Fitness?
A: It was time for a radical change and I knew working out was going to be the start of that. After coming in and meeting the team and having some candid conversations with them, I decided it was worth a shot. I had briefly tried other gyms and failed because there was no accountability. No Limits automatically feels different and more productive from the get-go.
Q: What was the obstacle that almost prevented you from joining?
A: Fear. I looked at this gym for more than 8 months before deciding to walk in the door. I even drove through the parking lot a few times to get the nerve to walk in. I was worried that there would be judgement, or they wouldn’t be able to help someone “as bad as I was.” I was WRONG!
I was in a rough place mentally and if I were kinder and more lenient with myself about the situation, I could’ve had this community to lean on much sooner.
Q: What has exceeded your expectations since joining?
A: I was shocked and happy to realize I look forward to the gym these days. I, admittedly, did not want to come in for the first month or so, but my body has gotten used to it and now I crave this time to be with myself.
I also enjoy checking in with my gym friends on how their goals are going. I didn’t ever think I would have “gym friends!”
Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: You can do it! I know it seems like it’s impossible, but it’s not! It’s never too late to be kind to both your body and your mind.
