Angie Brammer is our March Client Spotlight and was our 1st place winner in our New Year’s InBody Challenge. Over the weekend, she tested for FitRanX Level 4 and she passed with flying colors! Angie’s dedication to her health is inspiring! She’s a total rock star and we are lucky to have her as a part of our No Limits Fitness family!
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: To be as healthy and fit as I can be as I enter my golden years.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: Staying healthy! I had a health scare last year and ended up in the hospital. Something I hope to never experience again! I want to be able to keep active, travel, and enjoy life! I was recently diagnosed with mild osteopenia. One of my health goals is to avoid osteoporosis.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I lost 80 pounds on Weight Watchers back in 2003 and kept gaining back and losing the same 20 pounds over the years. I replaced a few negative lifestyle changes with positive ones and began exercising after I lost weight. I was a member of another smaller gym in town and needed to find one with a little more stability.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: I am in the best shape of my life, both health and fitness wise. I feel great! I am finally understanding that it is 80% what I put in my mouth and only 20% exercise. Even though I lost a lot of weight on Weight Watchers, I didn’t learn details about proper nutrition. I have learned more about nutrition in these past couple of years than I have in all my years combined. I have not only learned I don’t need to be in the gym all the time, but I am also learning proper form and technique.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: I am close to my final weight goal. I am the lowest I have been since my 30’s and feel that is the healthiest weight for me. Once I reach that goal, it is still a daily focus to choose to be healthy and fit. The weight goal is only one goal. Then I will work on maintaining and gaining strength. I struggle with weight, but now I know the key elements to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Q: What made you decide to join No Limits Fitness?
A: The members and staff were very friendly and personable at NLF! I also liked the smaller gym atmosphere and more personalized training.
Q: What kinds of results have you achieved so far?
A: I have been able to increase weights and endurance. I will continue to work on these goals.
Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change and committing to their goals?
A: Go for it! If nothing changes, nothing changes! Start with one or two small, achievable short-term goals.
Q: What is your “word” of the year?!
A: Perseverance. It is amazing what you can achieve if you stick with something and not expect immediate results. It is good to have short-term and long-term goals. If you persevere, you will eventually reach those long-term goals.
We are so proud of you, Angie! Keep up the amazing work!
