We are incredibly excited to share this month’s client spotlight and we know you’ll be inspired by her drive, dedication and adventurous spirit.
Sam joined our No Limits Fitness family almost 2 years ago and was looking to increase strength and endurance for the many obstacle races she participates in.
Her results have been outstanding not just during the races, but with her losses in body fat and gains in muscle mass.
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: “I haven’t failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Edison
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: I want to be able to do 5 unassisted pull ups. I want to be able to complete every obstacle in a Spartan race, so that I don’t have to do any burpees!! Overall, I just want to look healthy and toned, feel healthy and happy, and not get yelled at by my doctor to get more exercise or eat more vegetables!
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: The feeling of success! Nothing beats accomplishing the goals I set for myself!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I am 25 years old. I enjoy Spartan races, hiking with my dog, and riding my bike. Three years ago, I went through my first real heartbreak and shortly after that my dad passed away. I was in a really bad place mentally, so I started working out to give myself a healthier outlet.
My friend asked me to try a Spartan race with him, so I gave it a shot. Nothing has ever compared to the feeling of finishing that race. After feeling such happiness and accomplishment for the first time in a while, my desire to compete in more races was ignited. That is when I started at NLF because it seemed like a great place to develop the skills and muscles needed for better OCR results.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: NLF has given me the perfect outlet to relieve stress. It has pushed me to be better not only mentally, but physically. I can come into a workout feeling so down, stressed, mad, etc., but when I leave I feel relaxed, happier, and at peace.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: Since joining, I can successfully complete more obstacles during my races. I have lost somewhere around 5% body fat and dropped a couple clothes sizes. My endurance has increased significantly.
Q: What made you decide to join No Limits Fitness?
A: It felt like a no judgement work out zone where I could truly progress.
Q: What was the obstacle that almost prevented you from joining?
A: Financially I wasn’t sure if I could afford it. Also, the eyes my dog gives me when I try to leave him to go work out doesn’t help.
Q: What has exceeded your expectations since joining?
A: How much I fat I have lost as well as how much strength I have gained.
Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: You’ll never know the kind of results you could obtain if you don’t at least give it a try.
Q: What is your “word” for this year?
A: Happiness. Live a life that makes you happy
