Three months of physical therapy ended, the appointments stopped, and Nicki’s knee still was not finished. Most people call that the end of recovery and go back to normal life with a knee that quietly stays weak. She decided the rehab was the floor, not the ceiling, and walked into our gym to keep going.
Nicki trains at our West Melbourne gym. Here is her story in her own words.
Why I Came In After ACL Surgery
“Hi, my name is Nicki and I’m a mom, wife, and member at No Limits Fitness. About a year ago, I had ACL repair and meniscus repair. And I did three months of PT. And once the PT was over, I decided I should come here and have No Limits help me continue my progress with my knee. Now I feel stronger and slimmer and my knee is as good as new.
Since I’ve been working out here at No Limits Fitness, I’ve become stronger and lighter, and I can now keep up with my teenagers.”
Why I Chose This Gym Over Other Gyms
“I chose this gym over other gyms because of the small group situation and that you kind of create a community within the small group and you hold each other accountable and you look forward to seeing each other when you come in. There wasn’t really an obstacle for me in choosing a gym because I knew what I wanted and No Limits had everything I was looking for.”
What Keeps Me Showing Up
“The coaches keep me accountable which helps me stay motivated to come every time and reach my fitness goals. Something that has exceeded my expectations at No Limits is the variety of workouts that they offer us because I usually get bored and give up on things, but they have different workouts every time and I don’t have a chance to get bored.”
The Perimenopause Weight GAIN
“Before joining No Limits Fitness, perimenopause gave me an extra 30 lbs. And now that I’m here, I’ve gotten rid of 25 of them.”
What Changed Outside the Gym
“Now, outside of the gym, life is easier. Everything from mopping my floors to taking the kids to the park. I could do anything easier because I’m stronger and healthier. Nobody should be on the fence about working out here at No Limits Fitness. It’s worth it 1,000%.”
A Note on the Hormone Thing
“It’s my hormones” is usually where the conversation ends. For Nicki it was the starting line. Her PT had run out, nobody was going to schedule the rest of her recovery for her, and she showed up anyway.
Twenty-five pounds gone. A knee she doesn’t worry about anymore.
Nobody writes “mop the floors without it turning into an event” on a goal sheet. It’s still the first thing you notice.
