Jason Brown is a robotics engineer who had already been doing the work.
Yoga, pilates, and consistent gym sessions. Jason was putting in the work for years but wasn’t seeing the payoff.
Two shoulder surgeries also had him convinced that heavy lifting was off the table for good.
A year into training at our West Melbourne gym, Jason was down over 15 pounds on the scale. He had lost more than 30 pounds of body fat while adding muscle…a significant body recomposition.
He also went rock climbing without thinking twice about his shoulder.
Here is Jason, in his own words.
Why I Joined
I’m Jason Brown. I’m a robotics engineer. I was really looking for a data-driven place that could help me achieve my fitness results and found that here at No Limits Fitness. I had just moved to Melbourne. I was looking for a place that was going to help me get more results. I had worked out consistently, done yoga, pilates, and those kinds of exercises, and always kind of gained some strength, but never really progressed super far.
The First Visit
When I did the first intro, went through, had a guided workout which really helps do some of the more heavyweight exercises, and did a body scan which really helped me see the kind of data-driven approach that they were working with.
What Exceeded My Expectations
There are two things that have exceeded my expectations since joining. One is just the atmosphere. It’s a really welcoming open gym that is focused on getting results and working hard. The other thing is the actual getting results. This is the most results that I’ve achieved with any sort of exercise program that I’ve ever done. I’m down 15 pounds of overall weight, up 15 pounds of muscle, so down 30 pounds of fat. Really notice a difference in physique and look in terms of just strength. Able to do 200 lb squats. I’m able to squat my own body weight, do 3/4 of my body weight with chest press. All these are personal milestones that I’ve never achieved in the past.
No More Plateaus
The biggest difference has been consistent results. I used to work out consistently at every other place that I went to. I would always hit a plateau, just kind of even though I was going consistently, would never kind of keep growing and keep getting better. With No Limits Fitness, I’ve been able to maintain consistent results over the course of a year without any kind of drop off in improvement.
Training Around Two Shoulder Surgeries
I’ve had two surgeries on my shoulder, so I was always a little bit concerned about going from lighter weights, low impact exercises to doing traditional heavy gym exercises. Coming here to No Limits Fitness, they guided me through correct form, doing it right, and able to make consistent progress on my upper body, which has always been the biggest struggle for me in terms of exercise and working out and finding the right way to push it while still being within the bounds of what my body can handle.
Strong Enough to Stop Worrying
There’s always something in the back of my mind having hurt my shoulder that I’d reinjure it again. So, being here making the continued strides, the continued gains for strength, doing things like rock climbing, which the gym sponsored and did an event with, was able to do that without any concerns. So, I think at the end of the day, the dream that I have is being strong enough that I don’t need to worry about my past injuries.
Ready to Stop Hitting the Same Wall?
If you’ve been training consistently for years and aren’t happy with your results, the problem probably isn’t your effort.
You might benefit from a different approach.
