Michelle is an engineer in her early 30s. She had never deadlifted before she started training at our West Melbourne gym. A few months later she was closing in on 200 pounds, and the deadlift turned out to be the smallest part of what changed.
She came in cautious. She wanted a try before you buy option and an easy exit. She never used either one.
Listen to Michelle’s story of how she got stronger, gained confidence and took back control.
How I Got Stronger
“My name is Michelle Ashmore. I’m in my early 30s and I’m a professional engineer for a local company. I used to never deadlift and since coming here, I’ve almost achieved a 200lb deadlift. Also training on my own, I have nearly doubled all of my bench presses and my squat capability just from a matter of months working with the trainers. Also generally improved all of my other areas of wellness and health, whether it’s my nutrition, stress management, and my sleep hygiene. I tend to prioritize myself more since coming here. Mainly, I’ve just learned that investing in myself is the best thing I can do. And that applies to in the gym and outside of the gym.”
Why I Joined
“I had personally decided I will be joining a gym. I will be getting some type of personal training. It was just making sure that where I was going was going to have that flexibility of a try before you buy and additionally an easier walk away policy. But obviously, it worked out with No Limits since I didn’t need to walk away.”
What I Didn’t Expect
“The thing that really exceeded my expectations was the community at No Limits Fitness. The trainers really put a lot of effort into creating events and activities throughout the year. So that way the members can get to know each other and that’s just built a wonderful part of my life that really makes this community a home for me.“
Advice For Anyone On The Fence
“For someone who’s on the fence about if this is the thing for them to try at No Limits, I say just show up, give it a try, and just meet the people. What really got me sold was coming in and the friendliness of the trainers. They stepped me through the process to make sure I was comfortable, that I was safe, and then just meeting other members helped me build my confidence that I belong here and that I could succeed here.”
