Dave was already a runner when he walked in. Three or four years of it, capped at about six miles.
Since joining he has finished a 15K and his first half marathon. Dave incorporated strength training into his routine to reduce his injury risk and to become a stronger runner.
He trains with his wife Heather at the gym and considers this their best escape from the kids.
Dave also acknowledged his achievment of Dead Sexy Status along the way.
Dead Sexy Status, Achieved
“My name is Dave. I achieved drop dead sexy status.”
From Six Miles to a Half Marathon
“Before I came here I had been running for a good three or four years, and I think the furthest distance I ran was roughly six miles or so. And since joining No Limits Fitness I was able to kind of run that, then ran a 15K, and ran my first half marathon back in February and continued on with that. The workouts here really helped me kind of achieve and just up to the right with that goal.”
What You Get When You Join
“Joining this gym, you get the personalized attention during your workouts. You also get the community that you’re surrounded by that helps encourage you to move forward and makes you keep coming back.”
Time With My Wife
“I thought joining, I was coming for a workout, and really, honestly, what it is is spending some time with my wife. It’s a great opportunity to get away from all of our kids and work and do something together that’s helpful for our fitness and nutrition and overall physical and mental health.”
What Exceeded My Expectations
“So I was expecting to join and just get a workout in each day, and I think what really exceeded that was the community and the culture that’s fostered here at No Limits Fitness. So it’s not just the trainers, but it’s those that you’re working out with that are encouraging you and challenging you each day. So that was not something I expected, and certainly rose above my expectations.”
This Isn’t a Bro Gym
“No Limits Fitness is very different. You’ve got a wide variety and diversity of people that are all here for the common goal of just trying to better their nutrition and better their fitness. If you’re used to the standard bro gym environment, you won’t really get that here, but you will get a great community that’s going to encourage you and not judge you based on where you’re at in your training, because we all have to start somewhere. So I think if that’s what’s keeping you on the fence, it’s a good thing to kind of look past and give it a shot.”
