Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.
The virus is thought to spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It also may be possible that a person can get the Coronavirus by touching a surface that has the virus on it, and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. But this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
As concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) intensify, we felt it would be helpful to share information. We also wanted to share what we are doing at No Limits Fitness to keep our community as safe as possible.
To help people boost their immune systems, and reduce their exposure, we’ve put together a checklist of healthy suggestions straight from the Centers for Disease Control.
We care deeply about our extended fitness family. And we recognize that the only places where you may spend more of your time is at home and work. Your health and safety are our top priority. We are taking additional measures to keep No Limits Fitness both clean and sanitary.
The first step we have taken is to educate our staff with resources from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health. Additionally, we have communicated with our members (including their social responsibility). We will continue to do so as new information becomes available.
Our second step was to evaluate our ability to continue to provide services without increasing exposure risks to our members, visitors, and our staff. After consulting with several professionals, we do not currently believe that keeping No Limits Fitness open increases the risk of exposure. Our goal is to continue to provide the level of service you have come to expect from us, while providing a safe and clean environment for training.
The third step we have taken in our efforts to help curb coronavirus is to increase and intensify our housekeeping and disinfecting procedures. This is to ensure we are disinfecting our equipment and facility multiple times each day. Our staff is being vigilant with hand washing. And we are sanitizing all mats, equipment, and surfaces in use by our members.
The final step we are taking is to provide an alternative training solution for anyone not comfortable training at the facility. We respect this decision, and will make every effort to provide the same level of coaching and accountability in an online platform.
In closing, we understand that this is a stressful and challenging time. We also believe that we can’t live in fear for the unforeseen future. Some semblance of normalcy must remain. We love the community you have helped us create at No Limits Fitness. And we hope to help you get through this in the safest way possible.
P.S. We’re all much better off stocking up on single ingredient whole foods than toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
