Have you ever met one of those people that seem to always be in a good mood? You know…that special type of person that manages to put a smile on your face and light up a room just because they walked in.
Alison is without question one of these rare individuals. Despite life’s ups and downs, she has kept a smile on her face and a spring in her step throughout her journey. Alison is an amazing example of consistency and perseverance. Her joy for life is contagious and simply being around Alison seems to naturally make your life a little better.
Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: Mike: “Let’s go Alison!” Me: “Shut up Mike.” I said this one day to Mike out of pure frustration. I was working my butt off and his, “Let’s go Alison” just didn’t sit well with me that day. We do this almost every time I’m at No Limits, and knowing I get to tell Mike to “shut up” motivates me to get to the gym at 0515.
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: I’m there! Wanted to workout to be a healthy weight for my height, and the doc says I am healthy. No more obese or overweight. I will always be curvy, and I never wanted to fight that. Just work with my body.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: No Limits family. It’s SO MUCH easier to workout when you know you are going to a place with friends that support you. My healthy husband is also very motivating. I need to be able to keep up with him! I love that he is healthy as well and is part of the No Limits family. He works out with me every morning and watching him do pushups and KB squat thrusts definitely helps through the workout.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: I actually started with a Groupon, in the old We’ve Got Class days. Started November of 2014 doing hip hop and Zumba, eating way more veggies, then included boot camp classes in April of 2015 and the weight started falling off. I never intended to try to lose weight, it just started happening. Fell in love with roasted veggies, trying new veggie recipes (No Limits emails and facebook are great for those), and my clothes got looser. Roasted broccoli is so much better than French fries. Set my goal to be a healthy weight. I am happy where I am. I had gotten about 10 pounds smaller, but was missing out on some of the foods and drinks I love. I’m much happier the size I am now, and still healthy. Everything in moderation.
Q: How has No Limits Fitness made a difference in your life?
A: I’m healthy, the happiest I have ever been, and I love life. No Limits has been a big part of that. I love eating and drinking. That will never change.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: I’ve lost 60-80 pounds. I don’t know exactly, because I hated weighing myself when I was big. Was a size 20, now a size 8. My boobs and midsection took a dump (extra skin), but my arms and butt look fantastic. And God made Spanks.
What made you decide to want to join No Limits Fitness?
A: Again, a Groupon started it all. I stay because it’s the only gym I feel comfortable in. I like the small business feel. You aren’t a number here, you matter.
What kinds of results have you achieved so far?
A: A hot body, a great job, and a hot wonderful husband.
What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: I wish I would have made this change years ago. If you aren’t happy, make changes. Be happy. Life is too short for regret.
